Law and the Art of Mindfulness
Join us for this Wellness session to learn how Mindfulness can reduce work-related stress and anxiety. Mindfulness will also help you stay grounded when in court or working with clients.
Jill Carnell has been a licensed attorney in Indiana since October 2005, focusing her practice to government at the state and local levels. She is currently the Chief Administrative Officer at the Indiana Department of Administration, which coordinates procurement, public works projects, asset management, and supplier diversity programs for the executive branch of state government. In addition, she is the Executive Director of the State of Indiana's Complete Count Committee for Census 2020.
In January 2019, Jill began the low-residency Master of Arts in Mindfulness Studies program at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This program is the first of its kind in North America. She is studying the Buddhist roots of contemplative practice, mindful communication, mindful movement, neuroscience, and leadership while also deepening her own meditation practice. Through her immersion in emerging research regarding the impact of mindfulness practices on stress reduction, enhanced brain function, emotional regulation, and our innate capacity for compassion, Jill invites any of her colleagues of the bench and bar who are interested in exploring these practices to join her in learning more.
